Brian Drye is a passionate, creative and versatile teaching artist, teacher-mentor, presenter and arts administrator. As a teaching artist, Brian has worked across New York City and globally in partnerships with public schools, detention centers, homeless shelters, museums and community programs. As a teacher-mentor and facilitator he has served on faculty at the Music Educators Workshop at Carnegie Hall since 2014 and since 2017, has traveled the globe as a curriculum specialist for the Juilliard Global K-12 Programs and Initiatives. He has developed music curricula and music education resources for the Weill Music institute, Juilliard Global K-12, The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, Hadestown Education Initiative and Lincoln Center Education. As an arts administrator, Brian serves as the Program Director of the Community Music School at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music which serves students of all ages. Brian has presented as a guest lecturer at the International Teaching Artist Collaborative conference, the Music Educators Workshop at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center Education and the Living Arts Collaborative as well as numerous clinics and workshops at colleges throughout the United States including the University of Southern Maine, Bennington College and the University of Colorado. Brian is passionate about his work with students and teachers. Brian holds the core belief that music can build community and support people of all ages and backgrounds to develop agency, creativity and personal expression.
